Hello, My Beautiful Friends!

I hope you’re all enjoying your summer thus far. I don’t know about you, but ever since I was a little girl, I turn into a mermaid whenever I happen to be in a body of water. For me that even includes the town pool. It’s no wonder, since I grew up loving the movie Splash. All that to say, I am trying my best this summer to savor each day (even if it’s hot as Hades), lean into things that bring me joy and really enjoy time with my boys (especially while Teddy Bear is still little and let’s me squeeze him).

Speaking of spectacular sirens, for this months newsletter we dive into the magical world of Mermaid Core and explore the depths of creativity and the waves of inspiration that come with all things sea inspired. First let me start by thanking everyone who joined in on the Le Trio KAL!  Dani and I had such a fun time seeing all your beautiful faces on zoom and we can’t wait to do it again!!

☀️ Since the KAL ended, I have been working away on finishing the Honeycomb Dreams sweater and readying it for testing. It is both crochet and knit and if you are interested in testing please feel free to email us at testvanreyknits@gmail.com to be considered.

☀️Jeanie from the Fiber Genie Yarn Co. and I found the most luxurious Sari Silk that will be used for this project and another one coming down the pike!  Thank you for your continued support, Jeanie!! It means the world!

☀️ Dani and I have been like little bees working away on a passion project. It’s centered around our shared loves for knitting and Stevie Nicks! Hopefully we will be able to share a lot more about that with you very very soon! All I can say is, ready yourself for a BACKSTAGE PASS to fiber fabulousness!! 🤘🏻

☀️ We will now travel back to Florence, Italy, where I'll leave you with a photo of my beautiful Playboy bunny bestie, Joce (Happy Birthday tomorrow!!!!), and 21-year-old me in the mermaid costume I whipped up in design school for our Halloween party at club “Space Electronic” (the name ahaha). This costume won me the trip of a lifetime to Amsterdam, just being myself and a mermaid…
